Bitumen, more commonly known as asphalt, is a thick, black, and viscous liquid or semi-solid that originates from the distillation of petroleum. Renowned for its extraordinary waterproofing capabilities, it is widely implemented in the construction sector. Bituminous membranes are the go-to solution for creating impermeable barriers on roofs, basements, subterranean structures, bridges, and a myriad of other constructions. Essentially, bitumen membranes can be applied using two primary techniques.
The first method is the Torch-on technique, while the second involves Self-adhesive application.
Torch-on bituminous membranes offer a flexible and uncomplicated waterproofing solution suitable for any climate. Upon applying CHENHUA membranes, they establish a seamless and robustly bonded watertight barrier.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are pivotal in various construction grades, ensuring waterproofing and preventing seepage in both visible and hidden areas. Applications include flat and sloped rooftops, subterranean regions, tunnels, bridges, parking areas, reservoirs, and beyond.
Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is impeccably clean, thoroughly dry, and devoid of all contaminants, ready for flawless membrane application.
Any dust and loose or friable materials must be meticulously removed.
Blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and repaired to maintain surface integrity.
2. Primer:
Prior to membrane placement, a primer should be applied. Clean the substrate using a dust catcher or blower, then coat it evenly with a primer treatment to secure waterproofing, improve dust consolidation, and enhance adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane with care, aligning it accurately before proceeding with the torching or bonding process.
*Lay each membrane in parallel, ensuring a staggered placement by at least 1 meter to avoid overlap of joints.
*End-to-end overlaps should be alternated, maintaining variation rather than alignment along a single line.
*Begin at the lowest slope point, focusing initially on drains, downpipes, or intricate details.
*During torching, heat both the membrane and substrate concurrently, concentrating on the roll and overlap areas.
*Precisely weld overlaps, ensuring a thin line of melted mixture, about 1 cm in width, emerges along the overlap.
4.Press the membrane firmly with a roller to ensure secure and enduring adhesion.
Attention:
1. Confirm that the substrate is dry and clean. Refrain from working on rainy or snowy days.
2. Avoid construction during heavy winds exceeding grade 5.
3. Unsuitable for use in temperatures below 5°C.
4. If inclement weather occurs during construction, protect the laid membrane immediately.
5. Installers must wear appropriate uniforms for safety, and fire control equipment must be readily available.

Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated environments.
2. Store different types of membranes separately to prevent any interaction.
3. Normally, membranes can be stored for up to one year from the date of production.
4. During transport, membranes should be stored vertically, shielded from sun and rain.
