Bitumen, also known as asphalt, is a robust, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid derived from petroleum. Renowned for its extraordinary waterproofing capabilities, it plays a vital role in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes are the go-to solution for waterproofing roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and more. There are primarily two application techniques for these membranes.
The first is the Torch-on method, while the second is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes provide a flexible and uncomplicated solution for all weather conditions. Once the CHENHUA membranes are applied, they create a seamless, watertight barrier, securely bonding to the surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are widely used across various construction grades for waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. They are suitable for both exposed and concealed areas, including flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.

Application Method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is immaculately clean, dry, and free from any contaminants, prepared with precision.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be completely removed.
Blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and then meticulously repaired.
2. Primer:
Apply a primer before laying the membrane. Clean the substrate using a dust catcher or blower, then coat thoroughly with a treatment primer to ensure waterproofing, promoting effective dust consolidation and enhanced adhesion.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane, aligning it precisely before beginning the torching or bonding process.
*Each membrane should be laid in parallel, staggered by at least 1 meter to avoid joints coinciding.
*End-to-end overlaps should be alternated, never aligned along a single line.
*Always start at the lowest slope height, beginning with drains, downpipes, or other details.
*During torching, simultaneously heat both the membrane and the substrate, focusing on the roll and overlap areas.
*Overlaps must be welded with precision, ensuring a thin trickle of melted mixture, about 1 cm wide, appears along the overlap line.
4.Use a roller to press down the membrane surface firmly, ensuring secure adhesion.


Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is dry and clean. Avoid operations on rainy or snowy days.
2. Avoid work in strong winds (above grade 5).
3. Not suitable for construction below 5°C.
4. If rain or snow occurs during construction, protective measures for the laid membrane are crucial.
5. All personnel must wear special safety uniforms during installation. Fire safety equipment is essential.


Packing and Shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated areas.
2. Different membrane types must be stored separately.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage period is one year from the date of production.
4. Membrane rolls should be stored vertically during transportation and protected from sunlight and rain.
