Product Introduction
Bitumen, often hailed as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid derived from petroleum. Renowned for its outstanding waterproofing capabilities, it is extensively embraced in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes stand as the quintessential choice for waterproofing applications on roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and a myriad of other constructions. Primarily, two main application techniques for bitumen membranes dominate the industry.
One is the Torch-on method, a traditional yet highly effective solution, and the other is the innovative Self-adhesive approach.
Torch-on bituminous membranes present a versatile and uncomplicated solution for all weather conditions. Upon application, CHENHUA membranes create a seamless, watertight barrier, expertly bonded to the surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are widely implemented across diverse building grades for superior waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. Perfect for both exposed and concealed areas, these include flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.
Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure that the substrate is meticulously clean, dry, and devoid of all contaminants, prepared with unparalleled precision.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be meticulously eliminated.
Blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and meticulously repaired.
2. Primer:
Apply primer before laying the membrane. Clean the substrate with a dust catcher or blower, then apply a comprehensive treatment primer to ensure waterproofing, enhancing dust consolidation and adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane and align it with precision before commencing torching or bonding.
*Each membrane must be laid in parallel, staggered by at least 1 meter to avert coinciding joints.
*End-to-end overlaps must be alternated, never aligned along a single line.
*Commence at the lowest slope height, starting with drains, downpipes, or other intricate details.
*During torching, heat both the membrane and the substrate simultaneously, focusing on the roll and overlapping areas for optimal bonding.
*Overlaps should be welded with precision, ensuring a delicate trickle of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, is visible along the overlap line.
4.Use a roller to meticulously press down the membrane surface, ensuring a secure and enduring adhesion.
Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate remains dry and immaculately clean. Refrain from working on rainy or snowy days to guarantee optimal results.
2. Avoid working in heavy winds (above grade 5) to ensure safety and precision in application.
3. Unsuitable for construction below 5°C. Maintain optimal conditions for application.
4. If rain or snow occurs during construction, implement protective measures for the laid membrane to preserve its integrity.
5. All personnel must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is mandatory.

Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated environments to maintain quality.
2. Different membrane types must be stored separately to prevent quality compromise.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage period is one year from the production date, ensuring long-term usability.
4. Store membrane rolls vertically during transportation and shield them from sunlight and rain to maintain their pristine condition.

1) What's the popular size for Torch-on bitumen membrane?
-3mm x 1m x 10m with PE or sand granular top, offering reliable protection and durability.
-4mm x 1m x 10m with PE or sand granular top, ensuring enhanced resilience and performance.
2) What's the fundamental difference between SBS and APP?
-SBS and APP are specialized modifiers crafted to elevate the performance of waterproof membranes. SBS modifiers provide exceptional enhancement in cold resistance, making the membranes perfect for colder climates where durability is key. On the other hand, APP modifiers are engineered to significantly improve heat resistance, ensuring membranes stand resilient under higher temperatures. Though SBS and APP may look similar, their functional advancements are tailored to different climatic challenges.
