Bitumen, often referred to as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form obtained from petroleum. Renowned for its superior waterproofing capabilities, it plays a pivotal role in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes are considered the gold standard for waterproofing rooftops, basements, underground installations, bridges, and a plethora of other structures. Essentially, there are two prominent techniques for applying bitumen membranes.
One is the renowned Torch-on method, and the other is the efficient Self-adhesive approach.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are widely adopted across various building classifications for waterproofing and seepage-prevention endeavors. They are ideal for both visible and concealed areas, such as flat and sloped roofs, subterranean spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking facilities, reservoirs, and beyond.

Application Method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is scrupulously clean, thoroughly dry, and devoid of any contaminants, primed to perfection for the application.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be meticulously removed.
Blowholes and voids should be fully exposed, then repaired to maintain surface integrity.
2. Primer:
Apply a primer before membrane placement. Thoroughly clean the substrate using a dust catcher or blower and then apply a treatment primer to ensure superior waterproofing, achieving effective dust consolidation and enhanced adhesion.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane, precisely aligning it before commencing the torching or bonding process.
*Each membrane should be laid parallel, staggered by a minimum of 1 meter to prevent coinciding joints.
*Ensure that end-to-end overlaps are alternated, never aligning them in a single line.
*Always begin at the lowest slope height, starting with drains, downpipes, or other specific details.
*During the torching process, simultaneously heat both the membrane and the substrate, focusing particularly on the roll and overlapping sections.
*Overlaps must be welded with meticulous precision, creating a thin trickle of the melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, along the overlap seam.
4.Employ a roller to exert firm pressure on the membrane surface, ensuring robust adhesion and a seamless finish.


Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is completely dry and spotless. Avoid operations on rainy or snowy days for optimal results.
2. Refrain from working in strong winds (above grade 5) for safety and effectiveness.
3. Construction is not advisable at temperatures below 5°C to maintain material integrity.
4. Should rain or snow occur during construction, protective measures for the applied membrane are crucial to prevent damage.
5. All personnel must don designated safety uniforms during installation, with fire control equipment being essential for safety.


Packing and Shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated environments to maintain quality.
2. Different types of membranes should be stored separately to avoid any material interactions.
3. Under standard conditions, the storage period is one year from the date of production, ensuring product efficacy.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be stored vertically and shielded from sunlight and rain to preserve their properties.
