Bitumen, recognized as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous material derived from petroleum. Renowned for its exceptional waterproofing capabilities, it sees widespread application in construction projects. Bituminous membranes are the ideal solution for waterproofing roofs, basements, below-ground structures, bridges, and many other infrastructures. This versatile material primarily employs two distinct methods of application.
These methods include the Torch-on technique and the Self-adhesive method.
Torch-on bituminous membranes offer an efficient, user-friendly, and reliable solution suitable for all climates. Upon application, CHENHUA bituminous membranes form a seamless, watertight layer that adheres firmly to the surface, ensuring ultimate protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes find extensive application in a variety of construction and seepage prevention projects across different environments. They are perfect for both visible and concealed areas, including flat and slope roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.

Application method:
1. Substrate Preparation:
Ensure that the substrate is immaculate, devoid of moisture, and free from any contaminants, having been correctly prepared.
All dust and loose materials must be thoroughly eliminated.
Blow holes and voids should be completely exposed and subsequently repaired for optimal results.
2. Primer Application:
Apply a primer before installing the membrane. Clean the substrate thoroughly using a dust catcher or blower; then apply a comprehensive treatment primer to enhance waterproofing, ensuring dust consolidation and superior adhesion.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane and accurately align it before proceeding with torching or bonding.
*Lay each membrane parallel to its neighbor, ensuring they are staggered by at least 1 meter to prevent coinciding joints.
*End-to-end overlaps must always be alternated, avoiding alignment along a single line.
*Commence installation from the lowest part of the slope, focusing on areas with drains, downpipes, or other key details.
*The torching process must simultaneously heat the membrane and the substrate, concentrating on the roll and overlapping sections.
*Meticulously weld the overlaps until a small, 1 cm wide trickle of melted mixture is visible along the overlap line.
4. Finalization:Employ a roller to apply firm pressure on the membrane surface, ensuring it adheres securely.


Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate remains dry and clean at all times. Avoid working on rainy or snowy days.
2. Refrain from construction activities in conditions with strong winds (exceeding grade 5).
3. Construction is not advisable at temperatures below 5°C.
4. In case of rain or snow during construction, it is imperative to protect the already laid membrane.
5. All personnel must wear specialized safety uniforms during installation. Appropriate equipment for fire safety is essential.


Packing and Shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated areas to maintain optimal condition.
2. Segregate different membrane types for storage.
3. Under standard conditions, membranes can be stored for up to one year from the production date.
4. During transportation, position membrane rolls vertically, ensuring they are shielded from sunlight and rain.
