Bitumen, often referred to as asphalt, is a robust, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid material derived from petroleum. It is esteemed for its exceptional waterproofing qualities, making it a trusted solution in construction projects. Bituminous membranes are perfect for waterproofing needs on roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and numerous other constructions. There are primarily two robust techniques to apply bitumen membranes.
One is the Torch-on method, celebrated for its efficiency, and the other is the Self-adhesive method, known for its simplicity.
Torch-on bituminous membranes present an adaptable and uncomplicated solution suited for all climatic conditions. Upon application, CHENHUA membranes create a seamless, watertight shield that bonds securely to the surface, ensuring excellent protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are widely applied across diverse building grades for critical waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. Perfect for both exposed and concealed areas, they cover flat roofs, sloped roofs, subterranean spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and beyond.

Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure that the substrate is exquisitely clean, dry, and devoid of any contaminants, prepared meticulously for optimal application.
All dust, along with any loose and friable materials, must be meticulously removed.
Blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and subsequently repaired for seamless membrane application.
2. Primer:
Apply a treatment primer comprehensively before laying the membrane. Clean the substrate using a dust catcher or blower, and coat it thoroughly with a primer to ensure superior waterproofing, effective dust consolidation, and enhanced adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane, executing precise alignment before initiating the torching or bonding process.
*Each membrane should be laid in parallel, staggered by at least 1 meter to avert coinciding joints, ensuring a robust seal.
*End-to-end overlaps must be alternated, avoiding alignment along a single line.
*Commence at the lowest slope height, initiating at drains, downpipes, or other critical details.
*During torching, evenly heat both the membrane and the substrate, with focus on the roll and overlapping sections for optimal adhesion.
*Overlaps must be welded with precision, forming a slender trickle of melted mixture, roughly 1 cm wide, along the overlap line for a seamless finish.
4.Employ a roller to firmly press down the membrane surface, ensuring a secure and durable bond.


Attention:
1. Validate that the substrate is dry and clean. Refrain from working on rainy or snowy days to prevent compromise.
2. Avoid working in heavy winds, particularly those above grade 5, to maintain safety and quality.
3. Construction is inadvisable if temperatures fall below 5°C, as conditions are suboptimal.
4. Should rain or snow occur during construction, protective measures for the laid membrane are crucial to preserve integrity.
5. Ensure all personnel are outfitted in special uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is a must for precaution.


Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in a dry, well-ventilated setting to maintain quality and longevity.
2. Different membrane types should be stored separately to avoid any mishandling or quality compromise.
3. Under standard conditions, the storage duration spans one year from the production date, ensuring extended utility.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be stored vertically and shielded from sunlight and rain to prevent degradation.
