Product Introduction
Bitumen, a versatile and robust material, presents itself as a sticky, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum. Celebrated for its exceptional waterproofing attributes, bitumen is extensively employed in the realm of construction. Bituminous membranes are ideally suited for waterproofing a myriad of structures including roofs, basements, below-ground structures, bridges, and more. Predominantly, there are two methods for applying bitumen membranes.
One approach is the Torch-on method, while the other is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes stand out as a versatile and uncomplicated solution for all seasons. Once applied, CHENHUA bituminous membranes form a seamless layer of watertight material that fully adheres to the surface, ensuring robust protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membrane is highly regarded and utilized across a spectrum of building waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. Suitable for both exposed and sheltered locations, it is perfect for areas such as flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking areas, reservoirs, and more.
Application method:
1. Substrate Preparation:
Ensure the substrate is pristine, dry, and devoid of contaminants, thoroughly prepared for optimal adhesion.
Remove all dust and loose, friable materials to guarantee a smooth surface.
Address any blow holes or voids by fully exposing and repairing them.
2. Primer Application:
Apply a primer before membrane installation. Use a dust catcher or blower to cleanse the substrate, followed by a comprehensive application of waterproofing primer to consolidate dust and enhance adhesion.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane and align it precisely before torching or bonding.
*Lay each membrane parallel, ensuring a staggering of at least 1 meter to prevent simultaneous joint alignment.
*End-to-end overlaps should always be staggered, avoiding alignment along a single line.
*Begin application at the lowest point of any slope, paying attention to drains, downpipes, and other details.
*During torching, apply heat to both the membrane and substrate simultaneously, focusing on the roll and overlapping areas.
*Weld overlaps with precision until a small trickle of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, emerges along the overlap line.
4.Use a roller to firmly press the membrane surface, ensuring a strong and lasting bond.
Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is dry and pristine. Avoid working during rain or snow.
2. Refrain from working in strong winds (above grade 5).
3. Construction is not suitable when temperatures fall below 5°C.
4. Should rain or snow occur during installation, promptly protect the laid membrane.
5. Installers must wear protective uniforms for safety, and fire control equipment is essential.

Packing and Shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, ventilated conditions to maintain quality.
2. Separate different types of membranes to prevent any mix-up.
3. Typically, membranes can be stored for one year from the production date.
4. Transport membrane rolls vertically, shielding them from sunlight and rain.

1) What is the popular size for Torch-on bitumen membrane?
- 3mm x 1m x 10m with a PE or sand granular top finish.
- 4mm x 1m x 10m with a PE or sand granular top finish.
2)What's the difference between SBS and APP ?
-SBS and APP are specialized modifiers designed to enhance the performance of waterproof membranes. The SBS modifier significantly boosts the cold resistance of the membrane, making it ideal for frigid environments. Conversely, the APP modifier enhances the membrane's resistance to heat, perfect for warmer climates. Despite their differences in functionality, the appearance of both modifiers is remarkably similar.
3)OEM available ?
-Yes, we warmly welcome OEM services at any time.
Please send us your logo, and our team will design it for you. Alternatively, you can provide us with a completed design. We will then print it on the PE film and carefully package it before delivering the goods straight to you.
4) Are you a factory ?
-Yes, indeed! Shandong Chenhua Waterproof Co., Ltd. is a highly professional and established factory specializing in a wide range of waterproof materials since 1994. Strategically located in China's renowned Waterproof Town, Taitou, our factory is equipped to meet diverse waterproofing needs for both unexposed and exposed substrates.
