Bitumen, or asphalt, is an incredibly versatile, viscous liquid or semi-solid black form of petroleum. Renowned for its exceptional waterproofing capabilities, it is a preferred choice in construction. Bituminous membranes, designed for durability and efficiency, are ideal for waterproofing roofs, basements, substructures, bridges, and more. There are two primary methods of applying bitumen membranes.
One method is Torch-on, and the other is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes offer a highly effective, straightforward, and seamless waterproofing solution suitable for any season. When applied, CHENHUA bituminous membranes form a robust, watertight layer that adheres completely to the surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are extensively utilized across various building waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. They excel in both exposed and concealed applications including flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground areas, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.

Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is impeccably clean, thoroughly dry, and devoid of any contaminants, with proper preparation.
Remove all dust and any loose, friable material completely.
Any blow holes and voids must be fully exposed and meticulously repaired.
2. Primer:
Before membrane application, coat the substrate with a specialized treatment primer for waterproofing to consolidate dust and enhance adhesion. Utilize a dust catcher or blower to ensure cleanliness.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane and precisely align it before torching or bonding.
*Each membrane should be placed parallel and staggered by at least 1 meter to prevent joint alignment.
*End-to-end overlaps must alternate and not align in a continuous line.
*Begin installation at the lowest slope height, accommodating drains, downpipes, or other details.
*While torching, ensure simultaneous heating of the membrane and substrate, focusing on the roll and overlap areas.
*Overlaps must be meticulously welded until a neat trickle of melted mix approximately 1 cm wide emerges along the overlap line.
4.Utilize a roller to firmly press the membrane surface, ensuring a secure and enduring bond.


Attention:
1. The substrate must remain dry and clean. Refrain from working in rainy or snowy conditions.
2. Avoid working in strong winds exceeding a 5-grade scale.
3. Construction is not recommended at temperatures below 5°C.
4. In the event of rain or snow during installation, protective measures for the laid membrane are essential.
5. All personnel must wear designated safety uniforms, and fire control equipment is mandatory for safety during installation.


Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated environments to maintain quality.
2. Different membrane types should be stored separately to avoid mix-ups.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage duration is one year from the production date.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should stand vertically and be protected from direct sunlight and rain.
