Product Introduction
Bitumen, widely known as asphalt, is a dense, black, and incredibly viscous liquid or semi-solid derived from petroleum. Renowned for its outstanding waterproofing capabilities, it plays a vital role in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes serve as an exceptional choice for waterproofing applications across roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and numerous other constructions. Primarily, bitumen membranes are applied using two main techniques.
One popular method is the Torch-on technique, and the other is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes offer a flexible and uncomplicated solution suitable for all weather conditions. Once CHENHUA membranes are applied, they create a seamless, watertight barrier securely bonded to the surface, promising unmatched durability and protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are extensively employed across various building grades for comprehensive waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. These membranes are ideal for both visible and hidden areas, including flat and sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.
Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure that the substrate is meticulously clean, dry, and devoid of all contaminants, prepared to absolute perfection.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be thoroughly removed.
Blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and expertly repaired.
2. Primer:
Apply primer before laying the membrane. Clean the substrate with a dust catcher or blower, then coat it thoroughly with a treatment primer to ensure superior waterproofing, achieving effective dust consolidation and enhanced adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane and align it precisely before initiating the torching or bonding process.
*Lay each membrane in parallel, staggered by at least 1 meter to avoid coinciding joints.
*The end-to-end overlaps must be alternated, never aligning along a single line.
*Always begin at the lowest slope height, starting with drains, downpipes, or other details.
*During torching, apply heat to both the membrane and the substrate simultaneously, focusing on the roll and overlapping areas.
*Overlaps must be welded with precision, ensuring a thin bead of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, appears along the overlap line, signifying a perfect seal.
4.Use a roller to firmly press down the membrane surface, ensuring a secure and lasting adhesion.
Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is dry and clean. Avoid installations on rainy or snowy days.
2. Refrain from working in conditions of high winds (above grade 5).
3. Not suitable for construction in temperatures below 5°C.
4. If rain or snow arises during construction, protective measures for the laid membrane are crucial.
5. All personnel must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is vital.

Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated conditions to maintain quality.
2. Different membrane types must be stored separately to prevent any potential damage.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage period extends up to one year from the production date.
4. Membrane rolls should be stored vertically during transportation and be protected from direct sunlight and rain.
