Bitumen, traditionally known as asphalt, is a distinctive, sticky, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid that is derived from petroleum. Celebrated for its remarkable waterproofing capabilities, bitumen is a staple in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes are the ideal solution for waterproofing a myriad of structures including roofs, basements, below-ground structures, bridges, and more. There are two primary application methods for these versatile bitumen membranes.
The methods include: Torch-on and Self-adhesive applications.
Torch-on bituminous membranes offer an unparalleled, efficient, and effortless solution for year-round waterproofing needs. When applied, CHENHUA bituminous membranes transform into a seamless, impervious layer, meticulously bonded to the surface, ensuring long-lasting protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes find widespread use across a spectrum of building waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects, catering to both exposed and concealed areas. They are employed in projects such as flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground structures, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.

Application Method:
1. Substrate Preparation:
Ensure the substrate is impeccably clean, dry, free from contaminants, and appropriately prepared.
Eliminate all dust and any loose, friable material thoroughly.
Expose and repair any blow holes and voids completely.
2. Primer Application:
Before membrane installation, apply a primer meticulously. Clean any dust on the substrate using a dust catcher or blower; then, apply a comprehensive coat of treatment primer to ensure optimal dust consolidation and superior adhesion.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane and align it precisely before torching or bonding.
*Position each membrane parallel to the next, ensuring a stagger of at least 1 meter to prevent coinciding joints.
*Stagger end-to-end overlaps alternately, avoiding alignment along a single line.
*Initiate the process from the lowest slope point, focusing on areas with drains, downpipes, or specific details.
*During torching, heat both the membrane and substrate simultaneously, concentrating efforts on the roll and overlap regions.
*Weld the overlaps meticulously until a thin trickle of melted material, approximately 1 cm wide, emerges along the overlap line.
4.Employ a roller to firmly press the membrane surface, ensuring robust adhesion.


Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is dry and clean. Avoid work during rain or snow.
2. Refrain from working in strong winds (above 5 grade).
3. Construction is unsuitable below 5°C.
4. In case of rain or snow during construction, implement protective measures for laid membranes.
5. Workers must wear specialized uniforms for safety. Fire control equipment is essential.


Packing and Shipping:
1. Store membranes under dry and well-ventilated conditions.
2. Segregate storage of different membrane types.
3. Under normal conditions, storage is viable for up to one year post-production.
4. During transport, position membrane rolls vertically, away from direct sunlight and rain.
