Bitumen, an incredibly efficient waterproofing solution, is a sticky, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum. Renowned for its exceptional waterproofing properties, this versatile material is a cornerstone in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes, crafted from this remarkable substance, provide an ideal waterproofing solution for roofs, basements, subterranean structures, bridges, and various other constructions. These membranes offer two primary application methodologies, each tailored to meet specific project needs.
One application method is Torch-on, while the other is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes stand out as an effective, straightforward, and versatile solution fit for all seasons. When expertly applied, CHENHUA bituminous membranes form a thin, seamless, watertight barrier that bonds perfectly to the surface, ensuring long-lasting protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are extensively utilized across diverse building waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. They are suitable for both exposed and concealed areas, including flat and sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.

Application method:
1. Substrate Preparation:
Ensure the substrate is impeccably clean, dry, and free from any contaminants, as well as properly prepared for optimal results.
Remove all dust and loose, friable materials to create a flawless application surface.
Blowholes and voids must be completely exposed and subsequently repaired to ensure a perfect finish.
2. Primer Application:
Apply a primer before laying the membrane. Use a dust catcher or blower to rid the substrate of dust, then evenly coat with a treatment primer for waterproofing, consolidating dust, and maximizing adhesion.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Unroll and align the torch-on membrane meticulously before torching or bonding.
*Lay each membrane parallel to one another, ensuring they are staggered by at least 1 meter to prevent joint alignment.
*Ensure end-to-end overlaps are alternated, avoiding any alignment along a single line.
*Commence application at the lowest point of the slope, integrating with drains, downpipes, or other details for complete coverage.
*During torching, simultaneously heat the membrane and the substrate, focusing on the roll and overlapping areas.
*Overlaps must be welded with precision until a visible trickle of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, appears along the overlap line.
4. Firm Adhesion:Utilize a roller to apply firm pressure to the membrane surface, ensuring a secure and lasting bond.


Attention:
1. Guarantee the substrate remains dry and clean. Avoid operations during rainy or snowy conditions.
2. Refrain from working under heavy winds exceeding 5 grade.
3. Avoid construction activities when temperatures drop below 5°C.
4. If rain or snow occurs during construction, ensure protective measures are in place for the laid membrane.
5. All personnel must wear specialized safety uniforms during installation. Proper fire control equipment is mandatory.


Packing and Shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated conditions to maintain integrity.
2. Stack different types of membranes separately to avoid cross-contamination.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage period is one year from the production date.
4. Transport membrane rolls vertically. Protect from sunlight and rain.
