Bitumen, a resilient and versatile material, is a sticky, black and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum. Known for its exceptional waterproofing qualities, it is a preferred choice in construction. Bituminous membranes are the ultimate solution for waterproofing roofs, basements, subterranean structures, bridges, and various other structures. They are primarily applied using two distinct methods.
One method is the Torch-on application, while the other is the Self-adhesive approach.
Torch-on bituminous membranes offer an impressive, efficient, and straightforward solution for all seasons. Once applied, CHENHUA bituminous membranes create a thin, watertight layer that becomes seamlessly bonded to the surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are extensively utilized across diverse building waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. They are suitable for both exposed and concealed applications, such as flat roofs, sloped roofs, subterranean areas, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.

Application Method:
1. Substrate Preparation:
Ensure the substrate is impeccably clean, dry, and devoid of contaminants, prepared to perfection.
All dust and loose materials need to be meticulously removed.
Blow holes and voids must be fully exposed and diligently repaired.
2. Primer Application:
Prior to membrane installation, apply a primer. Clean the substrate thoroughly with a dust catcher or blower, then apply the treatment primer completely for optimal dust consolidation and superior adhesive effects.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane and precisely align it before commencing the torching or bonding.
*Each membrane must be laid out parallel to others, staggered by at least 1 meter to avoid joint alignment.
*End-to-end overlaps should always alternate, never aligning along a single line.
*Begin at the lowest point of the slope, focusing on drains, downpipes, and other crucial details.
*During torching, heat both the membrane and substrate simultaneously, focusing on the roll and overlaps.
*Ensure overlaps are meticulously welded until a narrow trickle of melted material, approximately 1 cm wide, emerges along the overlap line.
4. Final Adherence:Employ a roller to firmly press the membrane surface ensuring it adheres securely.


Attention to Detail:
1. Ensure the substrate is dry and clean; avoid working during rainy or snowy conditions.
2. Avoid working in conditions with strong winds (above grade 5).
3. Construction is unsuitable in temperatures below 5°C.
4. Protective measures are essential if it's raining or snowing during construction.
5. Workers must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is essential.


Packing and Shipping Insights:
1. Store membranes in dry, ventilated conditions for optimal preservation.
2. Different membrane types should be stacked separately to maintain integrity.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage period is one year from the production date.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be placed vertically and shielded from sunlight and rainwater.
