Product Introduction
Bitumen, also known as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid that originates from petroleum. Renowned for its exceptional waterproofing capabilities, it is widely employed in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes are the go-to choice for waterproofing needs in roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and a multitude of other constructions. There are primarily two main techniques for applying bitumen membranes.
One is the Torch-on method, while the other is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes offer a versatile and straightforward solution, adaptable to all weather conditions. When CHENHUA membranes are installed, they form a seamless, watertight barrier that securely bonds with the surface, ensuring long-lasting protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are widely employed across various building grades for waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. They are ideal for both exposed and concealed areas, including flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.
Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure your substrate is immaculately clean, dry, and devoid of all contaminants, meticulously prepared for application.
All dust and loose materials must be thoroughly eradicated to ensure optimal bonding.
Expose any blowholes and voids completely and repair them meticulously.
2. Primer:
Apply a high-quality primer before laying the membrane. Clean the substrate with a dust catcher or blower, then coat it thoroughly with a treatment primer. This ensures waterproofing, effective dust consolidation, and enhanced adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane and align it with precision before initiating torching or bonding.
*Each membrane should be laid in parallel, staggered by at least 1 meter to avoid coinciding joints.
*Ensure end-to-end overlaps are alternated and never positioned along a single line.
*Start at the lowest slope height, beginning with drains, downpipes, or other details.
*During torching, ensure both the membrane and substrate are heated simultaneously, focusing on the roll and overlapping areas.
*Overlaps must be welded with precision, ensuring a thin trickle of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, appears along the overlap line.
4.Utilize a roller to ensure the membrane surface is pressed down firmly for a secure adhesion.
Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is dry and clean. Avoid working on rainy or snowy days to maintain the quality.
2. Refrain from working in heavy winds (above grade 5) to ensure safety and quality.
3. It is not recommended to construct below 5°C to ensure effective application.
4. If rain or snow occurs during construction, it is crucial to implement protective measures for the laid membrane.
5. All personnel must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is essential for safety.

Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated conditions to maintain their integrity.
2. Different membrane types should be stored separately to avoid cross-contamination.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage period is one year from the production date, ensuring they remain in optimal condition.
4. Membrane rolls should be stored vertically during transportation and protected from sunlight and rain to prevent damage.
