Bituminous membranes stand as the ideal solution for waterproofing roofs, basements, below-ground structures, bridges, and various other constructions. The application of bitumen membranes can be broadly categorized into two distinctive methods.
The two primary methods include the Torch-on technique and the Self-adhesive approach.
Torch-on bituminous membranes are a versatile, efficient, and straightforward solution suitable for all seasons. When applied, CHENHUA's bituminous membranes form a thin, impervious layer of watertight material that bonds completely to the surface, ensuring lasting protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes boast a wide range of applications across various building waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. They are perfect for both exposed and unexposed areas, such as flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground structures, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.
Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure that the substrate is impeccably clean, dry, and free of all contaminants, guaranteeing optimal preparation for application.
Every speck of dust and loose friable material must be meticulously removed to ensure a pristine surface.
Blow holes and voids must be thoroughly exposed and subsequently repaired to create a flawless base.
2. Primer:
Before laying the membrane, apply a specialized primer after thoroughly cleaning the substrate with a dust catcher or dust-blower. This step is crucial for dust consolidation and achieving a superior adhesive effect.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane and align it correctly before proceeding with torching or bonding.
*Ensure each membrane is laid parallel to one another, with a staggering of at least 1 meter to prevent coinciding joints.
*Alternate the end-to-end overlaps to avoid aligning them along a single line, ensuring a robust seal.
*Commence installation at the lowest slope height, focusing on areas with drains, downpipes, or other specific details.
*During torching, heat both the membrane and the substrate simultaneously, with particular attention to the roll and overlapping sections.
*Meticulously weld the overlaps, ensuring that a trickle of melted mixture approximately 1 cm wide is visible along the overlap line.
4.Employ a roller to firmly press the membrane surface, ensuring a secure and enduring adhesion.
Attention:
1. The substrate must remain dry and clean. Avoid working on rainy or snowy days.
2. Refrain from working under conditions of heavy wind (above 5 grade).
3. Construction is not suitable below temperatures of 5°C.
4. If rain or snow occurs during construction, protective measures for the laid membrane are essential.
5. All workers should don specialized uniforms to ensure safety during installation. Fire control equipment is a necessary precaution.

Packing and shipping:
1. Membranes must be stored in dry, well-ventilated conditions to maintain their integrity.
2. Different types of membranes should be stacked separately to avoid any mix-up.
3. Under typical conditions, the storage period is one year from the date of production.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be placed vertically and kept away from direct sunlight and rainwater.
