Bitumen, a versatile marvel also known as asphalt, is a sticky, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum. Celebrated for its waterproofing prowess, it finds essential application in construction. Bituminous membranes excel in waterproofing roofs, subterranean structures, bridges, and more. There are primarily two distinguished application methods for bitumen membranes.
One method is the Torch-on, while the other is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes present an effective, straightforward, and adaptable solution for all seasons. Once applied, CHENHUA bituminous membranes form a seamless, watertight layer, perfectly bonded to the surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are extensively employed in diverse building waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. They are suited for both exposed and concealed locations such as flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground areas, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, and reservoirs.

Application Method:
1. Substrate Preparation:
Ensure the substrate is pristine, dry, contaminant-free, and suitably prepared.
All dust and loose material must be meticulously removed.
Blow holes and voids must be fully revealed and subsequently repaired.
2. Primer Application:
Before laying the membrane, apply the primer. Clean any dust on the substrate with a dust catcher or blower; then, thoroughly coat with a treatment primer for optimal waterproofing adhesion and dust control.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane and properly align it before torching or bonding.
*Each membrane should be laid parallel and staggered by at least 1 meter to prevent joint alignment.
*End-to-end overlaps should always alternate, avoiding a single line arrangement.
*Begin at the lowest slope height, with attention to drains, downpipes, and other features.
*The torching process should simultaneously heat the membrane and substrate, concentrating on the roll and overlaps.
*Carefully weld overlaps until a slight trickle of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, emerges along the overlap line.
4.Employ a roller to firmly press the membrane surface, ensuring a secure, lasting bond.


Attention:
1. The substrate must be dry and clean. Avoid working on rainy or snowy days.
2. Refrain from working in strong winds (above 5-grade).
3. Construction is not recommended below 5°C.
4. In case of rain or snow during construction, protective measures for the laid membrane are essential.
5. Workers must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is essential.


Packing and Shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, ventilated conditions.
2. Different membrane types must be stored separately.
3. Typically, the storage period is one year from the production date.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be positioned vertically and protected from sunlight and rain.
