Bitumen, often referred to as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly sticky liquid or semi-solid form derived from petroleum. With its remarkable waterproofing properties, it is extensively utilized in construction. Bituminous membranes stand out as the ultimate solution for waterproofing roofs, basements, below-ground structures, bridges, and a plethora of other infrastructures. Primarily, there exist two prominent application methods for bitumen membranes.
One is Torch-on, another is Self adhesive
Torch-on bituminous membranes represent a versatile, efficient, and effortless waterproofing solution suitable for any season. When applied, CHENHUA's bituminous membranes form a seamless watertight layer, ensuring full adhesion to the surface for maximum protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are widely utilized across various building waterproofing and seepage-proofing endeavors, catering to both exposed and concealed areas, such as flat roofs, sloped roofs, subterranean spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.

Application method:
1.Substrate :
Ensure that the substrate is pristine, dry, free from contaminants, and meticulously prepared.
All dust and loose friable materials must be thoroughly removed.
Fully expose and repair any blow holes and voids.
2.Primer:
Apply a primer before laying the membrane: Clear dust from the substrate using a dust catcher or blower; then, coat entirely with a treatment primer to achieve optimal dust consolidation and superior adhesion.
3.Membrane place:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane and ensure accurate alignment before proceeding with torching or bonding.
*Each membrane should be laid parallel to one another, staggered by at least 1 meter to prevent joints from coinciding.
*End-to-end overlaps must consistently be alternated, never aligned along a single line.
*Commence installation from the lowest slope point, addressing drains, downpipes, and other details first.
*During torching, simultaneously heat the membrane and substrate, focusing on the roll and overlaps.
*Meticulously weld overlaps until a small trickle of melted mixture (about 1 cm wide) appears along the overlap line.
4.Employ a roller to exert firm pressure on the membrane surface, ensuring strong adhesion.


Attention:
1.The substrate must be dry and clean. Avoid installation during rain or snow.
2.Avoid work in heavy winds (above grade 5).
3.Do not undertake construction below temperatures of 5°C.
4.If rain or snow occurs during installation, protect the laid membrane adequately.
5.All workers must wear specialized safety uniforms during installation. Fire control equipment is essential.


Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, ventilated conditions.
2. Different membrane types should be stored separately.
3. Standard storage time is one year from the production date.
4. During transportation, store membrane rolls vertically, away from sunlight and rain exposure.
